Unassisted childbirth, also known as freebirth, is a personal choice that some women make to give birth without medical intervention or assistance from healthcare professionals. While it is important to respect a woman's autonomy and right to make decisions about her own body and birth experience, it is also crucial to consider the potential risks and complications that can arise during childbirth. It is important for women considering unassisted childbirth to thoroughly research and understand the potential risks and benefits, and to have a plan in place for emergency medical care if needed. Ultimately, the decision to pursue unassisted childbirth should be made with careful consideration and in consultation with a healthcare provider. **

During an unassisted birth, the umbilical cord is typically left intact until it stops pulsating, which can take a few minutes. This allows the baby to receive all the blood and nutrients from the placenta. Once the cord has stopped pulsating, it can be clamped and cut using sterilized scissors or a blade. It is important to ensure that the cutting is done carefully to prevent any injury to the baby or mother. **

Many people consider unassisted childbirth to be irresponsible because it involves giving birth without the assistance of trained medical professionals who can provide necessary medical care and interventions in case of complications. Without medical support, there is an increased risk of complications for both the mother and the baby, and the potential for life-threatening emergencies. Additionally, unassisted childbirth may also lack access to necessary equipment and resources that can ensure a safe and healthy delivery. As a result, many people view unassisted childbirth as a risky and irresponsible choice. **
